My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frankie is a 9yr old 10lb yorkie being fostered near Suwanee, GA.

My foster Frankie was turned in to be euthanized. Fortunately he was saved by some extraordinary people and he has now part of the UYR family. He doesn't belong here. He belongs in a forever home that will appreciate him for the marvelous little guy he is. Frankie loves two things most of all. He loves sunshine and he loves people. Frankie has two issues, he is mostly blind and he has what appear to be occasional epileptic seizures. Frankie handles the sight impairment on his own using incredible common sense, his hearing and his sniffer. The seizures are controlled with an inexpensive medication twice a day. Frankie tells us whenever he needs anything. He let's us know when he has to go out to potty, when his food bowl is empty, when he's lost and whe he needs to be picked up. He can be very communicative! If you pay attention he will never have an accident inside the house and if he does it's really not his fault. He can't really go for walks easily because he can't see (although he's happy to try). Frankie needs a fenced in area where he can explore and do his necessaries. He likes to sleep with his people and he will gently lock you awake or lightly whine in your face when he needs to go outside. Frankie handles carpeted stairs wonderfully for a mostly blind guy but a home without that kind of obstacle would be the best. Frankie has discovered toys! He loves his loofah dog and he wants you to be willing to play with him by holding one end of the toy and playing tug of war. He can't play fetch very well but he's willing to try. Please consider giving Frankie a forever home. He would love to be an only dog. He avoids other dogs and he ignores cats. He wants to be your constant companion but he is fine being left alone for a few hours and he will just lay in the sun in the same room with you when it is time for you to work in the computer but feel free to spoil him with a surplus of love and attention!
