My story

Meet Mango! Isn't he handsome?! Mango is about 10 months old. As you can see in the video, he IS friendly and enjoys pets once he knows you and is comfortable. He'll sleep in your bed and play with your hair. He gets along great with other cats and is used to dogs. But he needs an experienced adopter who is willing to work with him and give him the space and time he needs to come around and feel comfortable. In the meantime, he'd make a great friend for your current kitty!

Mango is looking for a home that already has a young cat or to be adopted with his brother, Zypher. No exceptions. He needs a feline companion to be happy.

**Mango is also looking for a new foster home. The resident kitty isn't fond of older kittens and adult cats and isn't nice to poor Mango. Mango is such a good boy though and never fights back when she whacks him!**

Why adoption is a great option

Mango, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
