My story

Lloyd: white w/brown & black tabby, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 10/13/21, #17178
Chai: brown & black tabby w/white, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 10/13/21, #17179

(Note: this pair has such a great story that they asked to tell it themselves, and we agreed!)

Dear Friend,

Our names are Lloyd and Chai, and we are a bonded sister-brother duo, a package deal, and the very bestest of friends! Our beginnings are quite humble. We were living a hard-knock life on the streets of Valley Center when we were taken to a local spay and neuter place, which sounded kind of scary, but it actually turned out to be a really good thing! A Rescue House foster mommy was volunteering at the clinic and she decided to take us in and help us on our quest to find our forever home. We hear your home is purrfect and that you are a feline-loving human with a kind heart. We talked it over, and we'd like to officially apply to become yours. We can't really do that though because Rescue House told us that proper protocol requires you fill out an application for us. We'll try to wait for you, but please hurry... others are bound to be tempted by our adorableness!

Just so you know, if we do meet (which we really, really hope happens), us kitties will be a little bashful at first. After living on the streets and constantly assessing danger and risk to stay alive (and safe from cars and coyotes), we are a tad reserved when we initially encounter unfamiliar people. Rest assured, once we know you, we will bigtime bond with you. In fact, we will follow you everywhere, like charming, loyal little cat-shaped shadow puppets! Now, we'd like to tell you more about each other!
---My brother, Lloyd, is a curious, smart, loving, high-energy boy. When he wants to play-or hang out-with you, he will rev up his rumbly purr, and you'll hear his motor running before he even reaches you! It is beyond adorable, and you know what is even sweeter? He will keep purring while he plays! (I've heard this is unusual, and I'm not surprised, as Lloyd is an unusually awesome kitty.) He loves to fetch (especially with his black mouse toy and his stuffed carrot), and Lloyd is crazy about laser pointers! He is easily entertained, which I have heard is a wonderful trait, and while I can assure you that my brother is many amazing things, he isn't acrophobic! (Acrophobia is a fear of heights-I Googled it.) Lloyd adores high places! You will sometimes find him playing "Capture the Castle" as he perches on a tall cat tower. He also likes surveying the world from the tops of shelves. (No need for a surveillance camera security device thingy: Lloyd is on the lookout, and this boy is committed to your-and our-safety!) Lloyd also enjoys water sports, which is a tad odd for a feline. Our temporary moms says it's too cute the way he taps his little toes into and splashes around in the sink water!
---Wow, Chai sure knows how to talk a brother up, and now, it's time for me to focus the spotlight on her! I'd like to start off by saying don't be fooled by her size. Chai is tiny in stature, but quite powerful (and strong and nimble and coordinated)! She can leap tall buildings in a single bound. Okay, maybe she can't leap tall buildings, but she can hop up on high places with gymnast-level grace and precision. When she isn't scaling stuff, she relishes playing with her people and with me. And if you feel like playing with her, but you also feel super committed to your comfy sofa, have no fear! Chai will bring you her favorite toys and retrieve them if you throw them for her to scamper after. She absolutely loves pursuing the laser pointer: so much so, that she makes a little chirping noise when she hears the click sound! She also enjoys chasing me around. (Don't worry: I enjoy it too!) In addition, Chai is a fan of aquatic activities, dripping faucets, and automated toys. While she isn't a cuddler (not yet... at least), she will seek your affection and attention, and sometimes, she'll grace your lap with her glorious, petite presence. Then, she's off to the races again... Dora the Explorer-ing her way around your house, playing with me, and fetching her favorite toys!
---Most importantly, we MUST be adopted together!

Do you already have cats that are playful and/or easygoing? Cool! We are happy to expand our duo to include other fantastic felines. How would we do with dogs, you ask? Good question! We have heard about them (and that they fetch like us), but we've never met one. We don't like to prejudge, so dogs are a... maybe? (We are open-minded, magnanimous kitties!) Due to our high-energy/less-cuddly tendencies, we'd likely thrive in a home solely occupied by adults and possibly cat-savvy teens.

We hope you come to meet us soon, and in the meantime, please check out our videos on YouTube!

XOXO,
Lloyd & Chai
