My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cimarron is a gentle young boy. He is shy at first as if he has never been shown kindness and is not sure what to expect. The look in his eyes says he is happily surprised when he is shown love and affection and he gratefully soaks it in. He closes his eyes when you kiss his head and leans in with gratitude.

Cimarron is about 18 months old. He was found by a good samaritan starving and abandoned in the desert. He was taken to the shelter where he became a volunteer favorite because of his sweet, gentle demeanor. Unfortunately the shelter was full and despite his youth and gentle temperament he was scheduled to be killed for space.

AFLAR rescued him just in time.

Since his rescue Cimarron has been enjoying being loved. He is gaining confidence in the world and this calm, easy going, boy just loves to be near his people. He walks very nicely on a leash and is non reactive around other dogs. Cimarron takes treats gently and is friendly with all people.

When he saw the vet for his wellness check she loved him and thought he was adorable. She loved the way he pranced happily when he walked. She gave him a clean bill of health. He is back to a normal weight and gives a happy tail wag when excited to see a friend or go for a walk.

Cimarron is looking for a best friend or two. He would love a family that has the time and patience to help him explore the world at his own pace. He would love a home where he has a gentle doggie friend to play with as he really likes other dogs and they help him feel more brave.

In our eyes he is already a very brave boy. He has weathered difficult times and still has his heart open and waiting for love.
