My story

Anikan!    DOB: 1/2020    Weight: 65lbs

Anakin is one of those dogs that will probably spend a good majority of his life in the kennels. We have a lot like that. Some have been with us for 3-4 years already. But, we do believe that he has a person out there and we will keep posting him on the occasion to help him find that perfect person……

Anakin came into our care all scratched up with dirt and blood stuck to his fur. We believe that he might have gotten himself into a tango with a raccoon or small animal. A little bit of TLC and he bounced right back. He’s been very friendly with all the people he has met during his time at the shelter. He knows how to sit and takes treats nicely. He rides well in the car and when it’s time to go into his crate he’s goes in no problem. He’s good for baths and doesn’t seem to mind his nails being cut. He LOVES to play with hard toys and throw bowls and containers around for fun. He pulls when on the leash but it’s definitely not the worst. A 13 year old walked him and managed to handle him okay. He’s rather quiet when he’s out and about. Anakin isn’t a fan of other dogs or cats and will need to be an only pet. Due to him being stuck in the kennels he hasn’t been around any little bitty kids so we’re unsure how he is around them. He did do excellent with a 7 year old girl though. There’s a lot of love in this boy! We know there is a person out there for him too!

His adoption fee is $175. That covers worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a two week trial in which you can borrow items. If interested in adopting him please fill out an application on our website. pcpoundpuppies.com.

Came to the shelter 11/2021.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process consists of an adoption application followed by an interview. Upon arriving at the shelter, each dog receives a Bordetella shot, DHPPC vaccination and worming. At the veterinarian's office, our dogs receive a rabies vaccination, a spay or neuter surgery, and are tested for heartworm. If a dog tests positive, we treat the dog and then retest to confirm that the treatment was successful. Additionally, our dogs are microchipped before going home with their new family. Adoption fees are $85 and help to cover the cost of vetting.
