My story

Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.

Peanut is a sweet little lady who's dad had to move to a care facility, leaving her, a sibling and mama dog behind. Although they've lived together, the trio doesn't seem super bonded and seem to enjoy being the center of attention versus sharing with each other.

Peanut does get along with other animals, but of course loves people attention. A family with lots of love and attention to give would suit her fine or even an individual looking for a BFF. She is a barker, so apartments likely won't be a match.

She just been spayed, had benign mammary tumors removed and her senior profile/bloodwork came out very good. She may need mammary tumors removed on opposite side, but that would be at our expense if/when the time comes. We would love for her to be in a foster/adoptive home for this so she can have lots of spoiling as she heals.

She has a lot of years to offer some lucky home!

Age: 10 years

Weight: 14 lb

Sex: Female

Good with other dogs? Yes, and cats

Friendly with people? Very

Crate trained? Yes

Housetrained? Yes, as long as it's a reasonable time frame for a senior

If you'd like to foster, please complete our app or email us.

Dog Foster Application (bit.ly/DH-Fosters)

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.

We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

We are 100% volunteer/foster based, so we do ask that you complete an adoption application in order for us to schedule a phone interview.

2.

Interview

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you to determine if dog is a good fit for your lifestyle and home.

3.

Approve Application

We check vet and personal references to ensure previous dogs were well cared for, so please be thorough in providing this info.

4.

Home Check

This enables the dog to get to know you and your home and for us to suggest anything they may need to be successful in your home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

You would also pay the fee at this time, however, we offer a 2 week trial period before cashing your check. We will always take dogs back.

Additional adoption info

You will be asked to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/dh-adoption) and allow a home visit to ensure the pet is a good fit for your home/lifestyle. We are primarily a placement service, so the adoption fees vary depending on each pet and what caretakers have invested medically and behaviorally to ensure they are adoption-ready.
