My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Loki!

Loki is about 17 months old and likely full grown at about 75 lbs. He has a magnificent stance and is such a handsome boy. He has calmed down so much in the past few months and is very well-behaved in the home.

Loki is very sweet, and loves to snuggle and be a lap dog. He has an adorable howl when he hears a siren or another person or dog howls near him. He is black and brindle with dark eyes, and a naturally docked tail. He loves fetch and tug of war.

He is crate trained, house broken, knows sit and down. He is very smart and picks up new tricks quickly. He loves walks and the park and gets along great with other dogs, but he will try to be protective of you if he senses any fear so he needs a confident owner who will let him know that he does not need to guard them (unless, of course, you want him to.)

Loki was recently adopted by a family with young children. We were concerned about him potentially being too strong and knocking the children over with his enthusiasm, but he did not do that at all. He was so gentle with the kids and the family was very pleased with his behavior. However within a couple of days he developed a strong attachment to the dad of the family and did not like to share his attention with the children. He would wedge his way between them and the family was concerned about that behavior and asked us to find him a more suitable home. So now we think he may do best with just an owner to love and dote on. He truly does want to just lie there with his head in your lap when he is not out running and playing with you. We think he would be great with visiting family members and other dogs -- but it seems he just would prefer not to share his life every day with them.
