My story

Athena is a 4 year old who weighed in at 62 lbs. She is very sweet, but very timid. She is leery and will bark at strangers, but once she knows that you don't mean her harm she will follow you everywhere. She does have some anxiety here in the noisy kennels and does like to run when you get her in the play yard. I'm sure once she is in a loving home environment she will settle into life quite nicely. She is very smart and even though she doesn't seem to know "Sit" will do it with very little coaxing. She learns quickly, so if you give her patience and consistency she will pick up fast on anything you want to teach her. She does need a quiet home and likely the quickness of young children will make her uncomfortable. She does seem to likely be good with cats, but she is nervous so it's hard to tell for sure. Always introduce any new dog to a cat with slow introductions and never leave them alone without leash control leash. Athena is available for adoption now.

Why adoption is a great option

Athena, a Springdale German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Springdale, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Springdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Springdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Springdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Springdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
