My story

Ira is a sweet, friendly boy who loves being around people. He will happily sleep on your belly or nuzzle up on your arm. If you're sitting down, he will definitely be looking to sit in your lap. Ira has a very polite and pleasant meow and becomes more talkative the better you know him. Although he was rescued from an apartment where someone left him behind, this has not shaken his trust in humans. Ira loves to get chin and head scratches and will sometimes ask for more if you stop. Ira is a big fan of string toys and stuffed toys that have catnip inside (specifically carrot shaped ones, for some reason!).

Ira is on a special diet because he was recently diagnosed with IBD (inflammatory bowel disease), and his new food has put him on the right track. Ira has no noticeable symptoms of the disease, minus a big belly. He's about 5 years old and is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Just a fantastic kitty all around! Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Potential adopters are required to complete our adoption application; once an application has been approved, the adopter must sign our adoption agreement. All cats are vaccinated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and spay/neutered as part of adoption.

We require a donation of $150 per cat. This amount represents just a small fraction of the actual costs we incur for each animal under our care, and helps us to continue our ongoing efforts.

If you would like to get started please download our Infinite Hope Adoption Application at:
http://www.infinitehope.org/adopt

Once completed please fax or scan and email back to infinitehopeanimalrescue@gmail.com

Go meet their pets

Play dates with our animals are by appointment only. This may either be at a vet clinic or foster home depending on where the animal currently resides. If you are interested in adopting any of our animals please send us an email at: infinitehopeanimalrescue@gmail.com.

More about this rescue

Infinite Hope is an all-volunteer IRS-approved 501(c)(3) not-for-profit animal rescue. Since its inception in early 2004, Infinite Hope has placed over 1,000 animals in permanent and loving homes. Because we are an all volunteer organization 100% of our funds goes towards the housing, care and placement of our animals.

Our Board and volunteers donate their time and resources toward the cause of caring for and finding homes for abandoned animals, eliminating the problem of stray, unaltered animals in New York City, and caring for special needs animals until a permanent or foster home can be found.

While in our care, all of our animals receive high-quality food, shelter, positive interaction with our volunteers and all necessary medical care, including a complete vet exam, spaying and neutering, (if 5 months of age or older) and testing for communicable feline diseases (FIV and FeLV).

We are fortunate to have a small adoption center at Hope Veterinary Clinic at 390 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn. In addition we have a foster network so that our animals can receive care and attention until we have placed them with a loving and permanent home.

All adopters are carefully screened. Volunteers spend time with potential adopters and available animals, to ensure a good match for all. We are committed to a 100% “no-kill” philosophy and will not accept animals beyond our capacity to care for them.
