What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Stewie is one of the most loving dogs I’ve ever met, but unfortunately ever since we started having kids we’ve learned that he’s not a fan. He has some anxiety around strangers and other dogs, and has shown some mild aggression towards our 2 year old daughter.
Since those early signs, he’s been through a training camp that he excelled at, but he still hasn’t been able overcome the anxiety of my daughter and dogs he doesn’t know. Our daughter is now 2, so it’s near impossible for to understand that she needs to leave him alone. She’s doing great and tries to gently pet him, but he still occasionally shows mild aggression towards her. Lately we’ve just been keeping them separate; if she’s awake and around, we keep Stewie in our office with me while I work, or he stays in his crate. If they are ever loose together he wears a rubber muzzle which helps him stay mellow, but at this point we worry about his quality of life. He’s so loving and caring with me, my wife, and our adult friends.
