My story

Ms. Minnie Penny is a sweet, but shy, black and tan, female Miniature Pinscher. Her date of birth is 8/21/19. She LOVES squeaky toys and allows NO vermin in her yard. Over this past summer she killed 4 snakes that dared to come into her back yard. She takes her job of vermin exterminator very seriously. She walks well on a leash and gets along well with other dogs. She is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain her good health. Ms. Minnie Penny will need a fenced yard as she is an active girl. She is located in Arkansas. The adoption donation for Ms. Minnie Penny is $565 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you are interested in adopting Ms Minnie Penny, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.

After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home.

Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

We love hearing follow ups about our babies and hope you find the perfect match. Thank you for considering adoption.

Go meet their pets

We are a volunteer-based program. Most of our dogs come from the heavily overpopulated southern states, usually from Arkansas. We use Alpha Dog Transport to get your new family member home to you. They are wonderful, and we would not trust anyone else with our babies

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated volunteers passionate about helping the underdog that has been tossed aside for whatever reason. Once we take a new animal into our group, we take them for complete vetting before we list them as available for adoption. We try to match each of our animals to the perfect home, and the perfect home to one of our dogs. We do not adopt our animals on a first come first serve basis.

Our volunteers know our dogs the best, and will be able to make better decisions on animal placements. Just because you are not selected for the animal you apply for, does not mean that you do not have a great home to offer to a rescued animal. We want the entire family to be a perfect match for a happily ever after story.

Our adoption fees vary from dog to dog. All the dogs in our care are supported only by donations. All the adoption donations we collect are spent in full on the care of the animals in our group, such as food, vetting, and heartworm preventative, flea and tick preventative, and any other medicine that might be required by the vet.

These dogs are not inexpensive to rescue but they are our passion, we will do all we can do give them a happy ending to a very sad beginning. We love our dogs and no matter what happens in the future if you cannot care for them, we do require that they be returned to us. 10 days or 10 years, it does not matter. We are honest and supportive; we will be here if you need us.

Desperate House Dogs reserves the right to deny any application for any reason without explanation. We do receive a lot of applications, just because you don't hear back from us right away does not mean your application has been denied.
