My story

Annie (AKA Annie Belle) chihuahua, 6 1/2 lbs; 8 yrs. She gets along with all well behaved animals and humans, potty trained (has never had an accident in her foster home) and crate trained. She's a laid back kind of girl but will let you know she expects to be included in family activities. Snuggles next to her foster mom when she's (the foster mom) using the computer or watching tv., but also likes to go outside during the day to explore and check out any interesting smells. Favorite toys are anything she can find treats in; snuffle mats, kongs. Likes bully bully sticks and other chew toys. Enjoys exploring in her foster's yard so will need a safely fenced yard. She was found by good samaritans late at night in a rain/hail storm. Her eyes were injured and she has received quite a bit of vet care but still lost her sight. In spite of that she needs very few accommodations. She navigates really well around her foster home and yard. LOVES going for sniffy walks in parks, car rides, trips to Petsmart, Petco, Lowes and pet friendly restaurants. Her wish list for her forever home includes a family that has a lot of time to spend with her; a retired couple or a family that is home for most of the day, older children only, a home with a safely fenced yard and if there are other pets, they need to be gentle and respectful with Annie. Local adoption please, in TX $200 adoption fee.

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required. Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet.. If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

Go meet their pets

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us. Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets. We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in. We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
