My story

Please read entire description. Jack's adoption fee is $150. If interested, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Kids in the home should be 10+.

Jack is a 3 year old, 70 pound, Bulgarian Shepherd/husky mix who was raised with his current owners since he was a puppy. He has had some issues with another dog in the home from time to time and is not the most comfortable with small children. Jack takes some time to warm up to new people and does best with middle aged children and women. Jack has snapped and made contact with a couple of small children in the home which is ultimately the reason he is looking for a home that will be a better fit for him. The owner has consulted some trainers and tried mild anxiety meds to help Jack but to no avail to make him continue in the current environment.

Jack is a great dog. He is house trained and crate trained. He walks well on leash. He loves to swim and play in water. He would ideally love a fenced yard and owners who don't have a lot of strangers in and out of the house. We recommend children 10+.

Jack has done fine with cats and chickens in the past. He may occasionally chase cats, but he has never hurt them. Jack is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150. If interested, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgeaterlafayette.com/adopting.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application on our website. Once we have reviewed the applications, we will contact the potential adopters to arrange a meet and greet. This can take several days depending on the popularity of the animal. http://www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.html

More about this rescue

We are a rescue/ rhoming service that provides education and assistance for owners in our community to keep pets in their home. When that is not an option or we come across animals in need, we will take them into our foster-based program, work with them, seek all necessary vetting, and find them the perfect home.
