Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dudley is 3 years old and weighs 54 lbs. He came to Hero after being on the euthanasia list and needing immediately medical rescue. Dudley had a very old leg fracture that couldn’t be repaired and required amputation. He doesn’t let that slow him down though, and gets along great on three legs.
Dudley is shy, and his crate is his safe space. You can tell that he is curious though, and once he gets over the worry, he is going to be such a fun boy. He will let strangers pet his head, and he is much more trusting of his foster dads, and he will give them a kiss on command.
We have slowly introduced him to dogs in his foster home. He seems very interested in making friends, and every time he goes out now, he wants to run to the fence to see if anyone is outside playing. However, when interacting, he isn’t quite sure what to do.
We believe a home without children is going to be best for him due to his shy nature. We don't believe that he would hurt a fly, but with being nervous around new things, he might be more comfortable without kids around. Dudley will require leash walks but he can be allowed to roam in a fenced back yard.
Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.
Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.
Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
