Meet Tux, a very lovable senior! Tux is a social, boy who will tug at your heart strings. He started sleeping in his foster's arms. He'd always allowed pets and snuggles, and he slept on the bed, but now he's started crawling up and wanting to spoon and he'll purr for hours. His eventual person will get lots of snuggles! He's a lover boy. He may move a little stiff sometimes from minor arthritis, but that doesn't keep him from exploring new heights or jumping up on your bed to cuddle with you. He especially enjoys looking out windows or lying down right beside you when you go to bed for the night. He also enjoys the occasional pinch of catnip and chasing laser dots. He can be territorial when other cats are around, but he warms up fast to humans. All he needs now is someone who will give him chin scritches and pets on his ultra soft and fluffy coat. Why not give this old boy a new home to stretch his legs today! Tux has very early and mild kidney disease (as many cats his age have) and gets sub-q fluids once or twice a week at home to keep it staying mild! - it's very easy and we will show you how!

Due to COVID-19, we are not currently holding in-person adoption events. Most of our cats are in foster homes and we are doing virtual meet-and-greets with them.
We also have adoptable cats at our two partner cat cafes – CatCafe Lounge (https://www.catcafelounge.com/) in West Los Angeles and Cat Therapy (https://www.cattherapysb.com/) in Santa Barbara. You can make a reservation on their websites, or we can arrange a meeting by appointment once you have filled-out our application and spoken to our team.

More about this rescue
Stray Cat Alliance is a non-profit organization focused on educating and empowering communities to advocate for every cat’s right to be safe, healthy, and valued. Everyday, our team works to save the helpless lives of kittens and cats by providing: spay/neuter, trap-neuter-return (TNR), adoptions, wellness care, medical care, and community shelter support. Our goals are to:
-Eradicate cruelty toward cats through advocacy, rescue, and education.
-Find loving forever homes for cats and kittens taken in through all of our programs.
-Help shelters transform from executioners to safe havens for cats by implementing SCA’s life-saving policies and procedures.
-Educate the community about the plight of free‐roaming cats and empower people to take action to stop population growth through spay and neuter.
-Create and sustain a No-Kill Nation by mentoring other communities to become no-kill through our grassroots programs.
Stray Cat Alliance envisions a time when all cats are valued and safe whether in homes or communities, and when shelters serve as temporary safe havens.
