My story

Milky is a 12 year old male nuetered Chihuahua, weighing in at a whopping 16 pounds. This little guy is slow to warm up,but has been making amazing progress in the short time he has been at his new foster home, and gets along well with the 3 large dogs there. He loves to spend his day snoozing in your lap. He would thrive best in a quiet household as he is a bit skiddish. He is puppy pad trained, crate trained, and does well on a leash. Milky has a sweet disposition once he feels comfortable with you,and has simply been overlooked due to a few minor health issues. Milky has a mild heart murmur and a subcutaneous fatty tumor on his side, neither of which effect his length or quality of life. In true Chihuahua fashion,we do nip, which we are working on in our new foster home. But don't worry, he really is a sweet senior dude, who wants to spend his days cuddling with his forever family, could it be you? Milky adoption fee is $250. He is being fostered in Davis ,IL. More about this rescue

Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue was born out of my love for small dogs and desire to help those in need, and in memory of the loss of a dear family member. Dealing frequently with small breed puppies and retired breeder moms, we strive to find homes that are aware of the commitment to raising a small breed dog and to the patience needed in socializing and housebreaking a retired breeder mom who has no idea what life in a home is all about. We are foster home based and are always looking for new foster homes to help us continue our love of rescuing dogs in need. We are happy to assist in owner surrender placements, especially those in need of surrendering their small dogs due to financial hardships, loss of a loved one, or dog owner entering assisted living facilities or nursing homes. We pride ourselves with a thorough search for that perfect home for a dog in need and follow up with phone calls to ensure things are going well. Tiny Paws will take back an adopted dog should the need arise within a reasonable notice and an available foster home has an open spot. Our goal is to someday own a building to house even more canine companions in need. We look forward to helping you find your family pet.
