Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Okie was named after the genetically modified “super pig” in the 2017 Netflix film, Okja. In the movie, a young girl goes on a mission to save Okja from the mistreatment, neglect, and abuse of the meat industry. Our Okie came to us from Animal Control. Her owners moved and left her and her puppies with some people that decided they no longer wanted them either. Sadly, she was bred over and over and over again, which led to an umbilical hernia that we had surgically repaired when she was spayed. It is obvious that Okie never received love….she is shy and a little unsure when meeting new people. But once she knows you’re safe, she just melts right into you. She is not an active or high energy dog, but will make a great companion for someone with a quiet home that is looking for a cuddly couch potato.
