My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

We don't always know what our cats have been through when they come in to Catsnap, but Skye bears the scars of the reality of living outdoors. She came in with frostbitten ears and an injury to her mouth. Despite all the she has been through, she wants nothing but love and attention. She is the sweetest girl and will make an amazing addition to any home.

Thank you for your interest in a Catsnap cat or kitten!

If you would like to meet a cat, please complete the online application located on our website catsnap.org. We do not have a walk-in facility; most of our cats are in foster homes. For this reason, we require an approved application on file before we set up a meet and greet. Completing an online application does not obligate you to adopt! We care deeply about our cats and want the best match for all involved.

Initial vaccination against Panleukopenia (Distemper), Rhinotracheitis, and Calicivirus [cats]

Vaccination against Rabies (if animal is over 4 months of age)

Testing for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) [cats]

Initial de-worming, flea, and ear mite treatment

Sterilization of the animal prior to adoption; no exceptions Micro-chipping as mandated by state law

Why adoption is a great option

Skye, a Champaign Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Champaign, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Champaign.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Champaign already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Champaign breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Champaign paves the way for another one to be saved.
