My story

Welcome Dionesis aka Neesey to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 6 month old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). He weighs about 10 pounds. He is very friendly and submissive to people but a bit “bossy” with other dogs. He had T-bone on his back. For those of you who don’t know T-bone, he was a 35 pound dog that is much bigger than Neesey. Neesey calls down with correction easily. He does want to do what you want him to do but he has the traditional little dog syndrome. It is not ucommon for the Doxie or the Chihuahua to be “bossy”with other dogs. He would be great as an only dog. He would love to go on walks or play in his back yard. He is also a nice lap companion and likes to be held. He is small enough to go along with you in a carry bag. He isn’t going to be a good dog park dog as many dogs will not like his manners. He is good in a crate, goes on a wee pad and will go outside on a schedule. He would be good for a condo sized yard. He came in with lots of hair missing and with good supervision and Nextguard he is doing great now. He has a beautiful coat. He would be fine with children and we like them to be 8 or older. He has the adorable lamb ears that stick out sideways. He is adorable. He would be best with a harness and will need more work to get his skills up on leash walking. He is currently here in Texas at the Rescue. He can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washinton, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states
