My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maggie!

Through no fault of her own, this beautiful girl has found herself in a need of a forever home for her twilight years. Maggie's father has developed alzheimers and is not able to care for her any longer. Family members who were unable to give her a home themselves reached out to us for help.

Maggie has known a loving life her whole life and we want to find the same for her again. Apparently she had been living in an apartment with her original family, but she is thoroughly loving having a fenced backyard to explore in at her foster home. She is chill, friendly, and loving. Maggie is about 10 years old and weighs 70-75 lbs. She is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on prevention. She was fully vetted a few weeks ago and had no known health concerns. She is on an excellent senior care food and takes a daily fish oil supplement for healthy joint support, but is not on any medications.

We think Maggie will be perfect for the family that wants a snugglebug who still wants playtime and outdoor time, but doesn't need a lot of it. Although we think she'll be fine around younger children (like visiting grandchildren) we think she may enjoy a quieter life than she would have in a home with young children living there full time. She has been exposed to cats and does not seem to bother them as far as we can tell in the short time we've had her. She growled a little but was easily corrected with a firm NO. She is living peacefully with multiple dogs of different sizes and ages in her foster home. She's been good with everyone she's met so far, but she seems to especially love men.

With her gorgeous coat, Maggie's adopter will need to be prepared to have her groomed pretty regularly to prevent matting and discomfort.
