My story

Are you in need of a lovebug? A couch potato? Perhaps say, a lapdog? Well stop looking silly, he's right here! Stevie is a 8 year old Chi mix, but don't let that number trick you, he's still full of all the loving in the world. Being blind doesn't stop him from seeking a nice warm lap to cuddle on. His favorite things are laps, belly rubs, and treats, all the treats! He loves those treats so much so, you better hide them or else he'll sniff them out, no eyesight needed for this boy. Stevie is crate trained and housebroken; his alert that he needs to go potty is to paw at you and/or he will begin to pace back and forth if needed. He picks up on the layout of the house, just be sure you push those chairs in when you're done. Major object changes can throw him off as with any other blind pet. Stevie's activity level is low, he is content to cuddle in your lap while you binge your fave show. You may think for a chi mix that he would be a barker, but guess what, he isn't! He is quiet and rarely barks. He's very much about having your love. Stevie would do best in an adults only house and would thrive best as the only dog in the house. He is grumpy about other dogs invading his space and does not like cats. Local Adoption (TX) fee is $200 Out of State (TX) Adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to local area)

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required. Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet.. If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

Go meet their pets

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us. Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets. We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in. We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
