My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Finn is a rambunctious 4 ½ month puppy. His mother is a full Aussie, and dad seems to be a German Shepherd, but that’s just a guess. What this means is that Finn is smart, smart, smart. He is also sensitive and very keyed in on his person, watching them for his queues.

Finn picks up new tricks and behaviors fast and will need training to ensure that those behaviors are desired. He LOVES playing with his brother, Bentley, and has a rough and tumble style of play. So, if there is another dog in the home, that dog should be robust and happy to play. He also loves playing with his humans, and has a very different, more gentle style of play. He will be a great companion to respectful children over the age of 8.

He is learning fetch and tug-a-war, with a drop it command. He has also been exposed to cats and is curious, but not aggressive or overly pushy with them.

Finn is energetic, but also calms quickly. He rides in the car like a champ and loves to snuggle. He would do best with a fenced yard, but more importantly, he needs to be with his people. He would love to go hiking and will be a good running companion. He is cautious in new circumstances, and needs time to adjust but with encouragement, comes around quickly. Socialization will be important for Finn (like for most Aussies!).

He is going to be a loyal boy – a true companion for the right family and is a total love muffin. He will be protective and is alert. He loves to sit on the deck overlooking the yard, ensuring all is as it should be.

Finn is 75% house trained, up to date on vaccines, on heartworm and flea and tick prevention, and is microchipped. He will require neutering when the time is right.
Finn is being fostered in Falls Church, VA.

Finn has all the best attributes of an Aussie and a GSD. If you think that Finn is a great fit for your family, please fill out our application:
