Meet Rio the burrito!

He is a sweet, gentle, cute boy, and loves his people and other dog friends. Rio knows his name, and thinks he is famous in the burrito world, just ask him which burrito flavor he wants today and if you don't ask in time, he will scale your kitchen counter! At his young age, he has become a famous long jumper and is highly skilled at this trick.

Rio is even-tempered, crate trained, eager to please, and loves toys. He is looking for a canine companion; in fact this is a requirement to adopt Rio. If you don't already have a canine companion for Rio, Pathways can help in that way - we have lots of wonderful dogs for adoption. (Visit pwrescue.org to find all the dogs available for adoption under the "find a pet" tab).

Rio seeks an active family, one who will teach him how to walk on a leash so he can have regular exercise opportunities. He would be an appropriate condo/townhome dog as long as you are active and eager to provide exercise for Rio (we don't want him to put on the pounds from all those burritos).

He is looking for just the right fit now for his forever home but in the meantime we would love to find him a perfect foster home who can help him become the best version of himself. Rio is  intelligent and is looking for his new owner to train him on the house manners. Are you patient and willing to help house train Rio? Will you open your heart and home to him? Apply today at pwrescue.org.

Rio will join his new owner with a collar, harness, and a leash. He is vaccinated, altered, and microchipped. Meet and greets will be set up on approved applications only. Adoption fee: $300.

Go meet their pets

We have adoption events every other Saturday from 10:00-2:00 PM at PetSmart in Scottsdale (10030 N. 90th Street). Due to the holidays, the every other week schedule might be off beginning in January, so please contact Petsmart at 480-391-1647 to find out whether there is an event prior to making your way there.

More about this rescue

Pathways Home Animal Rescue is an all volunteer / foster based organization dedicated to finding the best homes for abandoned, surrendered, and county shelter animals. We stay small so we can devote our energies and resources to all the animals in our care. When we take in a found or stray animal every effort is made to reunite them with their owners. All animals in our care receive proper veterinary care, are spayed or neutered, all appropriate vaccinations, preventative care, and microchip are administered before they are adopted.
