Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Greta is looking for a home with a yard. She would do best with older, or no kids and although is fostering with other dogs, would be happiest as a single dog. She has not been tested with cats.
Greta is a sweet, 6-year-old, 40 pound shepherd/cattle dog mix, with a beautiful red coat. She came to the rescue malnourished, sick and very pregnant. She was a great momma and was protective of her pups, which isn’t surprising because it is likely she had puppies, at least once a year, for the majority of her life. Because being in her foster home seemed like an unfamiliar situation to her, it’s likely she spent her life outdoors. It takes her time to warm up to new people. When she does, she is cuddly and eager to please. She loves attention and scratches from her human. She would prefer a calm, quiet home with older children and can be dog-selective, so no other dogs is preferred. She would love a family with a yard, so she can bask in the sun and take casual strolls on her potty breaks. She is house trained (with reminders). She is an alert barker, but not overly so, when she hears a strange noise, so an apartment would not be a good fit for her.
