Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Emma is a 7-month-old Coonhound / Beagle mix. She looks like a miniature Back & Tan with some white on her chest and paws. She came in weighing a very skinny 26 pounds on a 16-inch frame.
Emma was found stray in Lufkin and caught a ride to Houston to find a family of her own. Surprisingly, she has great house manners for a young girl. She has had no accidents. She plays well with all her foster siblings. She tends to play nip, but she is learning pack manners by the older ones! She is all legs when running but you can see what a beauty she will become!
Emma needs work on not going nuts when food is being offered. She was so emaciated when she came in that she gets frantic when mealtime comes around. She will go into a kennel with encouragement but is very vocal about having to wait to be served. She may well do best with a family who has the time and patience to hand feed her a portion of her dry kibble so she can learn basic commands. Currently, she is too focused on getting the food to hear that she needs to sit.
Emma will cuddle and doesn’t mind sharing her space next to you with another beagle! She gives great kisses and will mature into a loving family member. Emma needs an active family with kids and another dog to help her continue to learn how good life can be for a HBHR beagle!!
