My story

Adoptions by appointment only. Visit www.kootenaihumane.org and select the ADOPT tab to view our new adoption process.

I recently came to KHS from another shelter. I am a good boy who loves to hang out with his friends and go on walks. I love treats and toys! I know basic commands and I keep my kennel very clean here at KHS. I will need to be your only pet in the home. Before considering adding me to your life, please make sure you have the appropriate amount of time, space, and resources available to care for me for my lifetime. I am very excited about finding my new forever family!

More about this shelter

KHS is a non-profit organization funded exclusively by donations and grants. Every day we receive numerous homeless animals. We shelter, feed, and provide medical care for these animals while searching for loving homes for them. As a "No-Kill" shelter, animals who are in our facility do not face a "be adopted quick or else" ultimatum, but rather are cared for until they can be placed. Our Mission - to focus all of our efforts and resources toward directly benefiting the quality of life for all abandoned or mistreated pets with the ultimate goal of finding each one a loving household in which to share their lives.
