My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miller is being fostered in PA.

Miller is a sweet, gentle, quiet, love-bug of a boy and is between 10-14 years old. Miller is just not ready to discuss his age so it is a secret!
Miller is wonderful with other dogs and cats and can get easily lost and jostled around in the shuffle so a home with calmer dogs or no dogs may be best for Miller. He does not seem to have the personality to defend himself if he needed to so his family will have to be very careful to keep him close and protect him from other dogs when out and about.
He enjoys exploring when outside and can find his way to the upper yard in his foster home. He does not need a fence if his family will be patient when taking him on leash walks, as he only has one speed and it’s only about the top end of 1st gear. He will often just stop and stand in one spot and sniff the air for several minutes.
Miller has been in his foster home since the end of February 2022 and needed some extensive vetting. He was not neutered before coming to BDRA and had an undescended testicle that appeared to be malignant. We are waiting on the biopsy results but the vet is hopeful that, if it is malignant, it is the common kind of cancer that is often seen in that area that is localized and doesn’t spread. An update will be given as soon as the results are back.
Miller saw a cardiologist and has a heart murmur but shows no outward signs such as coughing or panting. It would be best to limit his outside time in hot weather. He is on one inexpensive blood pressure medication and he only takes ¼ of a tablet 2 times each day so the bottle lasts about 2 months.
Miller also had a severe urinary tract infection and a very large amount of crystals in his urine. After a few rounds of antibiotics and switching him to a urinary care food, his urine is very close to being clear of each. It is anticipated that he will be able to eat a good quality, regular dog food soon. His potty habits have improved drastically and he no longer needs to wear a belly band since his infection and the crystals are both almost gone. Miller does need to be carried outside and back in.
This boy is ready to find his forever home and have cuddles all day long as soon as the results of his biopsy are back and after his dental on June 3rd.
