My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carolina ended up heavily pregnant and in a shelter. Feline Matchmakers took her in to have her kittens. She was as big as a house when we got her, but she waited another week to give birth. 5 out of 7 of her kittens survived. She was leary of people at first, but she now trusts us and enjoys chin scratches and rubbing up on your leg. Her best friend is Spring, so she will acclimate to another nice cat or dog.

Carolina was an awesome mom and we just know we can find her the forever home that she deserves.

All Feline Matchmakers cats get age appropriate vaccinations, fixed, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. Please fill in our application via this link: http://www.felinematchmakers.org.

We only adopt kittens and young cats out within a one hour radius of Wilmington, NC. Occasionally we make exceptions for adult cats, but we are not a transport company.

IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE GUIDELINES, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE REJECTED.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

An application is required in order to determine if the cat is the right match for you.

2.

Meet the Pet

You may meet the cat at our foster home or a mutually agreed location.

3.

Approve Application

If you rent, we must have landlord approval. All current pets in the household must be up to date on vaccinations.

4.

Take the Pet Home

The cat will be delivered and a home check done to be sure it's a safe environment. The adoption fee is collected.

5.

Interview

A few follow ups will be made via text. The animal may be returned at any time if the adoption doesn't work out.

Additional adoption info

We aim to match the right family with the right cat and vice versa. If we don't have the right cat for you, we can find one!

More about this rescue

Faith McNitt started Feline Matchmakers in January of 2020. We are a small organization that focuses on owner surrenders. The larger organizations focus on shelter pulls, so we feel this is the most needed service in Wilmington, NC. We also work TNR cases in small numbers. We are looking for fosters to build our organization. All fosters work on a charity basis, as we do not yet have the funding to pay for anything other than medical expenses. If interested in joining us to save cats from being euthenized or put in shelters, please contact us.
