My story

Dennis

Terrier Mix, Born in April 2018, Neutered Male

Hi there, I’m Dennis! I know, I know — it’s an unusual name for a dog. But I’m not just any dog. I’m like that friend who is kind to everyone and cheers you up when you are having a bad day. Yep, that’s me, but in dog form! My brindle coat and soulful eyes will lift your spirits in no time. I came to C.A.R.E. from Skokie Animal Control where I made friends with everyone during my brief stay. I must have lived in a home previously, because I know a lot of commands already: sit, stay, wait, and more! I walk well on leash and I like seeing people and other dogs. The only thing I need you to help me with is learning how to not jump up on everyone I meet (I can’t help it — I’m just so happy to see them)! Don’t worry, though, I’m very treat motivated so training me will be pretty easy. I’m so happy in fact, that I have what they call “Happy Tail” because I wag my tail so much that the tip of it became sore from hitting kennel walls before I arrived at C.A.R.E. The kind people here have bandaged it up for me and it’s healing. When I find my forever home, I will have room to help it heal more quickly. Do you have space for me and all of my happiness in your home? Fill out an adoption application and let’s find out!
