My story

I am shy, gentle and inquisitive but once i get to know you my purr-sonality will show through. I am a tortie so I have ''tortitude'' & I have the prettiest colors in my fur! I love to give kisses and cuddle when I get to know you. I will need someone to understand that I am a little more shy at first. Also, the world gets too scary when my paws leave the ground so I do not enjoy being picked up but I will climb in your lap and cuddle your face when I need it! I get along well with other cats so long as there is a good, slow introduction to give me time to settle in first. I have had poor experiences with children and dogs scaring me so I need to go to a home who would not have dogs or children. Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area.. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended. We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site! CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
