My story

Courtesy Post:
Ralph is a 12 year old labrador retriever (DOB: 1/13/2010). He was purchased from a dog breeder and was delivered when he was 4 weeks old, and so has bonded with me. When I received him, I was a single graduate student and had plenty of time and energy to give him. I met my wife 8 years ago, and we had our first child 5 years ago and have recently had a baby. Ralph has had difficulty transitioning with the birth of our second child. He is energetic and playful, but is in need of more attention than we have to give him at the time. This is why I am looking to rehome him.

Ralph is up to date on all of his shots. His vet is the Rhode Island Animal Medical Center in Warwick. He has recently been diagnosed with anxiety and awaiting blood work to decide the dosage needed. His anxiety has recently been heightened with the birth of our second child, and has become destructive in the home.

As he has grown older, he has developed some hip problems but is taking conjointin pills for dogs, which helps him. He is really good with children and all other animals. He is intact (not neutered). On walks, he urinates a lot and while he is not aggressive, he does sniff quite a bit around other dogs.

We are looking to rehome Ralph with someone who is patient and loving and has the time to give him all the attention that he needs.

More about this rescue

We are a group of close friends that came together to help rescue, and network these babies in all high kill shelters. Our program works with fosters, we don't have a physical location but we place all of our dogs in qualified approve fosters to train them, socialized them and bring out their potential to get them ready for their new forever loving homes. All of our dogs that are available for adoption have been microchip, spayed or neutered, up to date on all shots and have been temperament tested to make sure they will succeed with their new families.
