My story

Axe is now 3 years old and a very healthy 80 lbs! This hunk of love is an American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier mix (our best guess!) When rescuers found Axe, he was tied underneath a house tangled up in a chain that was only two feet long. He was emaciated with a terrible skin infection and miserable. He has now healed and is ready to find his forever family! Axe is a big guy and does not know his strength, so no kids under 12. He loves all dogs, however is also ok on his own. Axe needs a yard to run around in. He loves to play fetch, but we are still working on the concept of dropping the ball so we can throw it again. Absolutely NO cats for this guy and due to his breeds, no apartments!

Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
