My story

Dom is around 6 years old and weighed in at 82 lbs and the biggest teddy bear around! He is of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. His past has obviously been hard, but he is very resilient. He came to the shelter with a very painful eye (though he was still extremely sweet), which turned out to be entropion. He has had that corrected and is all healed up. He will shy away in fear when you pick up something directly in front of him, raise your hand or if he thinks you are going to throw something. His fear of being hit keeps him from enjoying toys, but he wants to run after the toy...for a short second. He really has the most meek demeanor and if you sit down he wants to put his head on your lap. Once you are sitting and he gets comfortable, he wants belly and chest rubs! He knows "Sit" and "Down" and does really well on the leash. He gives kisses and enjoys them in return. Young children will likely frighten him with their quick movements and excitement. He seems to be curious about cats, but not necessarily in a bad way. Slow introductions are always recommended. Dom would be a great BFF for anyone. Dom is available for adoption now.

Why adoption is a great option

Dom, a Springdale American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog for sale in Springdale, or seeking a American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Springdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Springdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Springdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog breeders who help with American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Springdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
