Dear Adopter,

Hi, I'm Alexandria, or Allie for short! I enjoy petting, purr nice, and like to play. I'm a pretty tortie female kitten/youth with white chest, mittens, and boots who is about 9 months old (born 9/30/21). I have been diagnosed with cerebellar hypoplasia by a veterinary neurologist, or "wobbly cat syndrome", but I'm still expected to live a high quality life with a normal lifespan. I don't have very good balance, but I'm learning to adapt as I grow. The condition is non-progressive, meaning it doesn't get worse. I'm not contagious, or in any pain. I have been more affected than my brothers, and have some delay in my cognition/mental processing. At times I may not immediately recognize who or what you are for a moment causing me to possibly scramble away to a safe place until I recognize you. Usually your voice or some petting will help with that - then I will flop over and purr for you. I'm looking to be adopted by an adult(s) with cat experience. No children, dogs, or access to stairs for me please. I must be adopted with another kitten, or have a youthful cat in my new home to play with. Are you my very special someone? I'm litter box trained, vaccinated, neutered, micro-chipped, test negative for FIV/FeLV, and I'm ready to go home.

P.S. I was born inside here at KittyCorner to my rescued stray mom Egypt. My brother's are Cairo and Pharaoh who also have the same diagnosis. I could be paired with my "step-sister" named Mirage who doesn't have cerebellar hypoplasia that I have been playing with.

Whether you have already found a cat or kitten you like in our adoptive listings, or if you just want to come and meet all our cats available for adoption, the first step is the application. The first step to adopting is the adoption application. Our adoption application can be done over the phone 315-457-4420 or online at our website http://www.kittycorner.org under the "adopt" link; or here's a direct link http://www.kittycorner.org/pages/adoptapp.php We request an adoption donation for our cats and kittens, which helps us to offset a little of our veterinary costs. All cats, even the kittens, must be sterilized before going to new homes. We believe strongly in pediatric spay-neuter, a practice that can be used with kittens as young as eight weeks.

If you are just looking to meet our cats available and see if one "clicks" with you, that's fine too! Once you've completed the adoption application, either online or by phone, we'll invite you to meet our kitties. All of our adoptable cats are housed in the same location, so you will be able to meet everyone in one visit. We are located in Liverpool, NY.

More about this rescue

At Kitty Corner, we are NOT a shelter. We are "cat rescuers" -- volunteers who live with the rescued cats in our own homes. We provide shelter, veterinary care and a chance for a new life in a loving home for cats who have been abandoned or who never had a home at all due to the overwhelming number of homeless pets. We are all volunteers and 100% of every donation is used for the care of the cats. When a cat first comes to us, they are briefly caged and isolated until they see our vet. They are checked for parasites and diseases. We provide vaccinations and any other veterinary care they may need. We also spay or neuter any cat who is old enough. The healthy, altered cats are then evaluated for personality and placed in one of our four "cat rooms". When necessary, we work to overcome behavior or emotional problems so that the cat will be a happy, adoptable pet. We try to match each cat with the person or family for whom it is best suited. The happiness of the cat and its new "people" is our first priority. In the last few years, we have taken in hundreds of cats and placed almost all of them in caring, responsible homes. Kitty Corner is firmly committed to the idea that once a cat comes to us, it will never be homeless again. We have a life-long "cat back" guarantee. If an adoption doesn't work out at any time, for any reason, we ask that you to return the cat to us.
