Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DOB 1-Apr-2012
Are you searching for a loyal accomplice in all your sedentary adventures? Look no further - Snowy would like to join you and your lap whenever possible!
At an estimated 7-10 years old, Snowy's previous owner sadly passed away recently. She is now on the hunt for a fellow napper, preferably one who spends a decent amount of time at home to keep her company. If you have a safe, enclosed outdoor space for her to meander and chew on cat-friendly plants, all the better. There is probably little chance of a Great Escape - she's not exactly an athlete (and may have a bit of arthritis), though with ongoing controlled weight loss that could change.
Indeed, she is quite the intellectual, able to convey her desires with opinionated chirps, such as "turn on the water in that bathtub... gah, too much of a drip!" and "open that closet for my explorations, please... thank you". She will also purr up a storm, both to say "thank you for petting me" and, if you're being a bit dim-witted for her tastes, "hey human, pet me so you can deserve these vocal vibrations". She even begrudgingly submits to gentle warm water baths for her bum, which she seems not to be interested (or possibly physically unable thanks to that generous belly) in cleaning.
Note that this loyal friend will tolerate a canine companion but considers other felines below her standing - hissing and growling will abound. She is also not likely to support grabby-grabby human children.
Finally, be aware that:
1) Snowy is quite fond of vertical furniture that looks expensive (this is vastly improved, though not eliminated, but proper cat-friendly scratching posts).
2) her diet must remain fairly strict: due to urinary stones (removed when she was first rescued in March 2022), she must be kept on a urinary-specific diet (canned or kibble) to minimize the risk of stone recurrence. Calorie-based weight loss should also be continued until she can reach a healthier weight.
3) on ultrasound, one of her heart chamber's walls was perhaps slightly thicker than it should be - this may be normal for her, but should be rechecked in spring 2023 with a veterinary cardiologist (estimated cost is $300-500 for that visit if she returns to her original cardiologist).
Her current foster family would love to keep her, but alas Snowy will likely be happier where she can be The One And Only Cat. If you would like to meet this beautiful lady, a Meet & Greet can be arranged in her downtown foster's home, with masking of all humans respectfully requested.
Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $200.
