My story

NOTE: We do not adopt our fosters to anyone further than a 1-hour drive from Albany, NY.

Lily is a sweet girl, who has been tossed around a lot in her short life. She’s almost 3 yrs old, and she ended up on the streets when she was a year old; was adopted and returned when she developed a minor medical issue; was adopted again after she was ok, only to have her second adopter become incapacitated and have to go into care.

Now she’s ready to try again. She’s looking for a REAL forever home. Lily would prefer to be an only pet, and live in a quiet, respectful home. She’ll reward her loyal human with snuggles and purrs and loving looks. Who wants to be her hero?

Why adoption is a great option

Lily, a Albany Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Albany, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Albany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
