My story

Meet the beautiful 4 year old girl we are calling Mellie. Mellie is a big girl at 85 pounds but that is 85 pounds of pure love. She is one of the friendliest girls you will ever meet, very loving and eager to please. Mellie has a beautiful soft and silky coat and very pretty eyes. Mellie will sit when asked and is great on leash. She does appear to be house trained as she keeps her run clean as long as she can. Mellie is a typical lab and loves to play ball, probably could play all day long. She is current on vaccines and spayed; she will be micro-chipped upon adoption. You will find this beautiful girl waiting in run 24 and her ID# is 636266. She came to the shelter as a lost girl on 05/07. Unfortunately, Mellie tested positive for heartworms, but she is being treated at the shelter; she received her first injection on June 6. With treatment, dogs who test positive for heartworms usually go on to live long and healthy lives. Heartworms can be prevented with an inexpensive monthly pill.

This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment only until further notice, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays.
