My story

This gorgeous fluffy boy is FRANK! Look at those adorable and beautiful green eyes! FRANK arrived at the shelter on 05/03 and he’s now available for adoption. Frank is current on his vaccines and will be neutered and microchipped when adopted. Unfortunately, Frank has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Since the virus can be transmitted to healthy cats, he should be in an only cat household or one with other FIV+ cats. Though cats with FIV may appear healthy for years, they have a compromised immune system that eventually will cause them to be susceptible to illnesses. Frank's ID at the shelter is 636148 and he is waiting to meet you in cage 666.

Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.

This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment only until further notice, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays.

Why adoption is a great option

FRANK - FIV+, a Marietta Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
