My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

About Anais
Female | 2.5 yrs | 34lbs | Terrier mix

Anaís has improved a lot in 6 weeks but is still very timid and requires a lot of patience and encouragement. She requires a lot of structure to help her feel more secure and confident in the world.
Her favourite place is her bed and spends 24/7 in it but is starting to become very playful. She LOVES being pet and has learned to paw at you to get more affection. She's such an easy dog and doesn't require a lot of exercise. She just goes outside to use the bathroom and happily walks back to her bed for more rest. She still pees when I pick her up to take her outside but that's become manageable with a pee pad. She is okay going outside as long as it's the same, short route and there aren't any unexpected noises. She is very much a creature of habit!

She does well with adults but gets too overwhelmed with young children. She is okay if they are calm and around her for a short while but requires time to decompress after a period of new people or experiences. She would do best with older children who can read her signals and allow her plenty of alone time in a calm space.

She would also be better in a dog free home as other dogs scare her, but may adapt to an older, calmer dog who gives her space.

She is such a sweet, loving little girl and needs a calm, patient adopter who can work with her and understand that she needs time. Everything is new to her so something that may seem normal to us is very scary to her. She does very well with lots of praise and affection and will continue to come out of her shell little by little. She would be great with anyone who wants an easy dog who provides companionship without requiring long walks or lots of playtime.
