My story

Bert and Ernie have the ultimate rags to riches story. Born under an abandoned house in a muddy yard full of commercial trucks and junkyard dogs, these brothers managed to survive long enough to be brought into a loving foster home. With time and patience, these boys learn to trust and relax. Bert and Ernie enjoy their food, toys, and most of all, laps ready to hold and pet them. They purr and enjoy pets. Ernie is friendly, and talkative. His brother Bert will take longer to become comfortable in a new place and come out of his shell. These two are strongly bonded, and spend hours playing with each other and napping together. Bert and Ernie are looking for a home ready to love and appreciate them.

More about this rescue

We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization dedicated to saving local at-risk shelter pets from the San Jose Animal Care Center. Our goal is to give adoptable animals a chance to shine in a casual and relaxed environment, and expand opportunity for adoptions, thereby reducing the euthanasia rate in Silicon Valley. The Dancing Cat also seeks to create a community of cat lovers by providing a place for fun social and educational events.
