My story

This 11-year-old Jack Russell terrier Mix is about as easy going as they come. He's a lover of people, of other dogs, and just life in general. When he arrived at the shelter, you could see every rib but after some time in a foster home he has certainly put some meat on those bones!

Jax is equal parts adventure and equal parts lap snuggler. He takes on long walks like a pro but is just as happy to pop up on the couch with you and turn into a fur puddle. He's very easy to have around the house -- quiet and well-behaved.
Jax is all anyone can really ask for in a dog. And as his foster describes -- he's an "easy, mellow, cheery chap!"🐕

Additional adoption info

In response to COVID-19, and the current social distancing rules, all of our animals are now being housed in foster homes and our adoption procedures have changed. Please read the following ADOPTION STEPS on our website for further details! **Please Note: Most of our adoptions are beginning with a foster-to-adopt period, and because of this, we are temporarily unable to consider applications from households outside the counties of: Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Monterey. If you rent, please have a copy of your lease or a letter from your landlord that states you can have a pet(s) ready. If you’re adopting a dog, introduce your future friend to any other dogs in the family (dog adoptions only).
