My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello –
My name is Sampson! I hope to find my forever home. I was last a beloved companion to a wonderful senior gentleman who took me for walks daily and tended to my every need. Sadly I saw a deer and pulled out of his hands and he did have to run after me loosing me temporarily. I don’t have “street smarts” and he lived off a busy road and didn’t want to see me be a victim to traffic. Here are a few things my new owners should know about me: I am a 4 year old lab/Great Pyrenees mix, neutered male, and up to date on rabies. Sometimes I forget how big I am and can knock down a small child by accident. I can be adopted to a new home that can provide for my needs at a discounted fee. GP’s are livestock guardians and known for exploring their areas. For this reason I should have a secure yard. I am housetrained and like to have a schedule, doing best when fed in the morning, having access to plenty of fresh water and let out on a regular schedule to potty. I would prefer to be the beloved companion to someone who is primarily home based and whom I can adore, laying at your feet, and enjoying your attention and loving touch. I would make an excellent emotional support animal as I enjoy your company as much as possible. As an explorer by nature, if I smell goodies on the counter – I am tempted and can consider it a self serve. This can apply to food wrappers in the trash as well. I walk well on leash and do best in my harness. If I spot something interesting – I will pull hard. GP’s are considered gentle giants but the lab in me, wants to chase the small wildlife such as rabbits and squirrels and I often don’t know my size or strength. I enjoy going for car rides with you when the weather is moderate so I won’t get too hot or cold and will wait patiently for your return, guarding your car while you are gone. I am not a barker – but will gladly notify you when someone comes over. I hope to find the perfect, forever, happy new home where I can be your next, best forever faithful furfriend. Thank you! Much love Sampson.
