Smartie is such a handsome fella, don't you think? We sure do! Smartie landed at GGOH coming from a colony - he was brought in with three siblings.
Smartie is a quiet and somewhat shy fella - he is what we like to call a "background observer". He will watch from a distance until he feels that everything is safe and then will slowly join whatever is going on - new visitor scenario.
Smartie has not been around children but we think given proper introductions, he will do just fine. Our recommendation would be older children only though as little ones would not understand his desire to move slowly and to give him time and patience to adjust to new surroundings. We also have not had the opportunity to introduce Smartie to dogs so that is questionable. He does, however, do fabulously with other cats.
Smartie is one of our FIP warriors - he beat that bully of a disease and is all clear. We can give you a more detailed picture of what his treatment was when you visit but just let it be known, he has a long worry-free life ahead of him. He's happy and healthy and ready to find his forever family. We don't like to dwell on this aspect of his care too much, but we also like to be up-front about it as we're not the kind of rescue that withholds or hides information from our prospective adopters. Everything is laid on the table so you can make an informed decision. If you decide you'd like to meet Smartie, as stated above, we can give you all the specifics during your visit.

We hope you'll give Smartie the chance he deserves to win you over. It might be a slower process than you were initially thinking of, but he is sooooo worth it. Please consider at least meeting him - he deserves the love of a family of his own.
