My story

Meet Phoebe...she is a 2 year old Collie/Retriever mix in need of a new home. Her previous owner could not keep her due to a medical condition. She did good with the grandkids coming to visit. She is pretty good on a leash. She has met and did not get along with a small breed dog. However, she has only met a couple of dogs, so a meet and greet is needed if other pets are in the home. She has never met a cat. She is house trained, but may need a little work in a new home. She is crate trained and her crate is here for her new person/family to take after the adoption. She sleeps in her crate. She was described as, "Hyper" when she wants to play. She loves belly rubs. She reacts when she sees cars. She will bark and try to chase them. She knows sit, and come. Please visit the Taylor Animal Shelter to meet her. We will be open Saturday May 21st this week from 9 am to 2 pm. Our normal hours are Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 2 pm.

Why adoption is a great option

Phoebe, a Taylor Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Taylor, or seeking a Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Taylor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Taylor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Taylor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Taylor paves the way for another one to be saved.
