My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dolly cme into rescue in February as a stray in Columbia. She was completely shut down at the shelter when we picked her up. Little did we know, Dolly was pregnant and had 7 puppies which is a lot considering she only weighed 27 pounds. Three of the pups died within 3 days so we thought 4 would would survive. Unfortunately after 3 weeks, the biggest guy passed away after an emergency trip to the vet. Dolly took all of this in stride and was a great momma. After the pups were weaned, she went to a new foster home where she continued to grow. She has played in the backyard doing the basset 500 and even played with her 11 year old foster sister basset hound. Dolly’s foster mom also took her to training after she settled in and Dolly has done well with this. She has learned touch, sit, focus, go get it, come, wait, and leave it. She really enjoys the attention and is smart. She also love the treats involved.

Dolly needs a home with a single woman or a couple with a patient, soft-spoken man. It would be best for her to not have younger children in the home. She loves to play with toys and loves a nice soft bed. We are hopeful that this move will be her final one so she can settle in and continue to blossom.
