My story

Lab Mix - 10+Years old - Neutered Male

Leroy has had a hard life but if there's one thing dogs keep teaching us, it's that we must live in the moment and let go of past wrongs. Even though he has had to endure abuse he still has so much room in his heart to love people.

His future home needs to understand that physical touch may be hard for him at first and quick movements can scare him (butt scratches are his favorite though!). He asks for a home with other dogs, he plays like a puppy although he doesn't see all too well and he doesn't always keep up, but he gives it 100% all the time- his zoomies are pretty epic to watch.

He would not do well with small children.
Leroy is neutered, up to date on all his vaccines and is microchipped.

Why adoption is a great option

Leroy, a Washoe Valley Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Washoe Valley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Washoe Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Washoe Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Washoe Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Washoe Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
