My story

Are you a cat AND dog person, looking for the best of both worlds in one perfect pet? Are you looking for a furry friend who will follow you around, gently ask for pets any opportunity he gets, and enjoy every head butt to its fullest? Look no further than Big Daddy Kane!

His fosters say, "We love this guy. He's really, really special. Obsessed with people. He purrs nonstop. He's very chill about the carrier...Chill about location changes. If someone has a weekend home and wants to travel back and forth with him in a carrier, he can do that." He's also well-behaved around food even though he loooooves to eat! Despite looking tough, he has a cute, high-pitched, chirpy meow -- which he uses a lot. Big Daddy Kane loves toys he can kick or wrestle with; other than that, he's not interested in climbing or destroying things.

Big Daddy Kane will do best in a home where he can be with his people as much as possible -- ideally, with someone who works from home. He'll want to sit by your side and sleep at the foot of your bed. He's tense around other cats, so he'll need a home without other pets or an experienced adopter who can patiently introduce them.

Big Daddy Kane was rescued from the street, where he was eating garbage and had to fight to survive. Now he's ready for a life of regular meals and endless cuddles! If you can offer that to him, please fill out our adoption application.

You can view him getting cuddles and head butts here.

Big Daddy Kane is estimated to be 5 years old. He's neutered, chipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

When applying, please note the name of Big Daddy Kane's rescuer (Suse) in your inquiry.

Additional adoption info

Our cats are almost all in foster homes. Upon approval of your application (including reference check), we will connect you with the foster parent(s) so that you can meet the kitty you're interested in. If it's a good fit, we'll do a home check for safety issues, and then process the paperwork so that you can officially adopt your new family member!

More about this rescue

We are a network of rescuers in Brooklyn (Bed Stuy, Crown Heights, and Bushwick) who help each other out. We do both TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) as well as the rescue and adoption of friendly cats and kittens that we find on the streets. We don't have a physical facility, so our cats are usually in foster homes, or staying with us in our own homes. Our goal is to find loving, permanent homes for all the cats we take off the street, and to make better lives for the ones we leave there.
