My story

We'd fostered Hudson for 3 months when we unexpectedly had to board him due to a death in the family. To avoid causing him undue stress by bringing him back to the place where we picked him up, at Pasadena Humane Society, we adopted him. We were really concerned that it would break his spirit. He had serious wounds that we'd been treating and we wanted him to heal. (The vets were still trying to understand what had caused them and they still weren't sure.)
The reason we hadn't adopted him before was because he's afraid of my husband and that hasn't resolved. We've been working with a trainer and that has helped some. We both work from home and travel for work and family obligations.
Hudson needs to feel stable and comfortable in his surroundings and our lives are not very conducive to that right now.
He's a sweet dog who needs time and attention. He's great with other dogs, so a house with another dog (maybe older) might be a good fit.
He's very good company.
