My story

Tan/brown Tortoiseshell Pt Siamese mix, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 1/1/19, #17200Gisela found herself in a shelter with very few resources and in the family way, but luckily The Rescue House was able to find a foster home where she could have her kittens safely. Gisela was fiercely protective of her six kittens, all of whom have found homes. Now it's Gisela's turn.Gisela can be described in two words - she is a genuine "live wire"! Although past her own kitten years, Gisela has many kitten-like behaviors and will immerse herself in play, her imagination hard at work. This is a cat who could easily win gold in several events of the Kitty Olympics. Hunting: Anything smaller than Gisela that happens to make the unfortunate blunder of entering her space is unlikely to escape with its life. Sprinting: Gisela can break any land speed record known to man when she wants to get from point A to point B in a hurry, which she frequently does. Ball tossing: Speaks for itself (and she both tosses and catches!). While she does not need a football field for her play, she does require a fair amount of space for her antics.Gisela does not give her trust and love freely - she makes you earn it. However, while Gisela is definitely not a pushover, she can just as definitely be won over with calm patience over a period of time, making ever-progressive strides as you get to know each other. Once Gisela begins to trust and love, you become anointed as her person; then the treasure chest opens and the prize is revealed. Although Gisela may never be a lap cat precisely, she does like to sleep in her person's bed next to them, lounge nearby when her person is settled in a chair, and follow her person (dog-like) around the house as they go about their chores - often finding a shower curtain or something equally as mundane to entertain her in every room.We think Gisela would best like to be the sole recipient of your attention and not live with either dogs or other cats. Children are not a good fit for Gisela as she likes a calm environment and also has a tendency to put her teeth on you when touched unexpectedly.Gisela has been through some hard times, and those experiences factor into her need to build trust, but she has prevailed every time and come out on top. All she wants now is the final destination - a partner who will be her person for life and care for her accordingly. Sound like anyone you know?
