My story

Melinda is a young adult, spayed female cat, probably born in spring or summer 2021.  She's a perfect little calico...beautiful large crisp shapes in vivid orange, deep midnight black, and a white so perfect it might have been bleached.  She's also got a bit of the legendary calico attitude:  she's a queen and she knows it.  She's the only girl in her colony and the boys have learned to obey or avoid her.  She's super friendly with people and isn't really clear on "boundaries" and "waiting turns" when she wants affection.  She will insist on winding around ankles or rubbing against us until we give in a pet her.  Humans would be well advised to learn from the boy cats and just obey.  Melinda is looking for a home full of people who will devote every waking hour (her waking hours, not theirs) to satisfy her whims. (and she sleeps 20 out of 24 hours a day, so it won't be that bad).  If you like the sound of being bossed around by the empress of the universe, please come meet Melinda.

Update: Melinda has decided that living with "subjects" isn't satisfactory, so she has a royal  apartment all for herself.  At this time, we think Melinda would be happiest as an only cat.

Why adoption is a great option

Melinda, a Fargo Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Fargo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Fargo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fargo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fargo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fargo paves the way for another one to be saved.
